Set on 6 acres of elevated rural land nestled close to the Oxford foothills in Canterbury you will find our quality accommodation warm and inviting. Our aim is to make you feel welcome and cater for your individual requirements so that you leave with happy memories of Hielan House and Oxford. We would enjoy sharing your travel experiences over a cuppa or at dinner. We are located just off Inland Scenic Route 72, which is the gateway to the rest of the South Island including the West Coast, Mt Cook, Methven, The Glaciers and Tekapo, Hanmer and Kaikoura.

• Our home is situated 180m from the road with off-street parking and no traffic noise.
  
• Spacious gardens to wander around and relax. We farm a few sheep, eggs from the hens at breakfast, and Dora and Tass our dogs like being made a fuss of.

• Dinners available ( even at short notice) with homegrown meat and vegetables in season from John's garden. Includes Lamb, venison, chicken, fish, and steak. Desserts include Pavlova, Apple Shortcake, Profiteroles and caramel sauce, Crepe Suzettes, we can cater for vegetarians and your special dietary requirements. Pre-dinner drinks, New Zealand wine and a taste of Havill's honey mead.Or one of our own fruit wines might be on the menu.
